Halo was established after reflecting on the myriad unnecessary, undignified and, in some cases, near-fatal experiences of the direct grandparents and friends' grandparents of the founders:

• being scammed out of £500,000 pounds by phone fraudsters (despite the Belgium based British fraudster being tracked by the US FBI, the money was never recovered)
• being trapped in the bath tub for 3x days (surviving by constantly topping up the bath with hot water)
• arriving to a doctor's appointment at 9pm rather than 9am, before falling on ice, remaining on the cold carpark ground throughout the winter night
• multiple falls that resulted in hours and even days before being rescued
• structural damage to property from forgetting to turn taps off
• acute loneliness and suffering in not wanting to "be a burden" to others
• enduring life threatening discomfort from cold and damp environments
